Leviticus 6
Today was a day full of scripture.  And work.  I'll start with Leviticus 6.

According to verse two, if someone deceives his neighbor, or is in any way false toward him, he is guilty of sin.  That falsehood equates an unfaithfulness to the Lord.  If a sin was committed in this manner, not only was restitution required, but also an extra fifth.  And those are only the requirements as far as his neighbor is concerned.  He must then bring a guilt offering to the Lord.

The system was set up to make things right.

Next comes the burnt offering.  Three times the Lord repeats the same thing: "the fire on the altar must be kept burning."  Doesn't God require the same of us today?  A perpetual sacrifice? One that 'burns' without ceasing?

I want to quickly hit two verses that the Lord showed me today.

The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 2:14
The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
Psalm 119:130
Patience.

Sometimes we become frustrated when brothers and sisters are developing slowly, or just don't seem to be making progress at all.  Likewise, we try to preach the Good News, yet our ministry seems to be completely ineffective.  Just be patient, in time the Word of God will do it's work.

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
who walk according to the law of the LORD.
Blessed are they who keep his statutes
and seek him with all their heart.
They do nothing wrong;
they walk in his ways.
You have laid down precepts
that are to be fully obeyed.
Oh, that my ways were steadfast
in obeying your decrees!
Then I would not be put to shame
when I consider all your commands.
I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous lasw.
I will obey your decrees;
do not utterly forsake me.

How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.
I seek you with all my hear;
do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
Praise be to you, O Lord;
teach me your decrees.
With my lips I recount
all the laws that come from your mouth.
I rejoice in following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.
I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.
I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word.
